Regarding the return of the Messiah
In response to:

Some brief notes.
Regarding "mystery":
2nd
Thessalonians 2:7 -
"For
the mystery of iniquity
doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of
the way".
We
see that even the very elect are deceived.
(This is acknowledgement of fulfillment of prophecy...not for me to knock
far greater men than myself.)
Mathew
24:24
"For
there shall arise false Christ's, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs
and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they
shall deceive the very elect."
(Note
that even if deceived, the Jew is still the very elect.
Oh yes, a whole other related topic.)
(and
before you think "it isn't possible", note that Jesus (God, with whom
all things are possible) prayed -" if it be possible,
let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt]."
Matthew
26:39
Regarding
the return of the Messiah:
Matthew
24:27 -
"For
as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so
shall also the coming
of the Son of man be".
Everyone
will see.
Revelation
6:2 -
"
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a
crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer."
"A
Bow":
Of
course we "think bow and arrow", but is it?
A
couple of the things going on here:
1,
God reminding all earth that he has not forgotten his promises.
Genesis
9:13-14 -
"I
do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me
and the earth.
And
it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall
be seen in the cloud:"
2.
Bow = the rainbow, is with the Cloud of Jehovah's Presence, or Glory Cloud.
Jesus returns thus:
The
cloud of Jehovah's Presence was upon the Tabernacle - a fire by night and a
cloud by day:
Exodus
13:21
"
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the
way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and
night"
Ezekiel
1:4
Fire
and - rainbow:
"And
I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a
fire infolding itself, and a brightness [was] about it, and out of the midst
thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire."
Vs.28
"As
the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was
the appearance of the brightness round about.
This
was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah."
So
we have an idea of what to look for in the return of the Messiah.
Matthew
24:37 -
"But
as the days of Noe [were], so shall
also the coming of the Son
of man be".
Matthew
24:39 -
"And
knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so
shall also the coming
of the Son of man be".
Noah
knew in advance a year or so of the coming flood. Everybody saw the flood when it came.

Thessalonians 4:16,17,18
vs16
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall
rise first:"
Quite
a commotion!
vs17-
"Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them
in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord."
Note
- caught up in the cloud of Jehovah's Presence!
Vs18- "Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
